    Unit 1: Printers and Terminals 2 - 3 hours

    - Identify the features of the print queue process on AIX.
    - Add a printer by using Web-based System Manager (WSM).
    - Add a printer by using System Management Interface Tool (SMIT).
    - Manage print queue jobs by using Web-Based System Management (WSM).
    - Identify the command-line interface (CLI) commands that are available to manage printing on AIX.
    - Identify the functions of tty terminals on AIX.
    - Identify the serial device settings that can be configured with SMIT and WSM.
    - Configure an AIX terminal.
    - Identify management options for the CDE and X-windows.

    Unit 2: Network Connections 2 - 3 hours

    - Identify network configuration options.
    - Set up a network by using System Management Interface Tool (SMIT).
    - Identify the features of Transmission Control Protocol/Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) addressing.
    - Identify the features of Serial Line Interface Protocol (SLIP).
    - Identify the features of Point-to-Point Protocol (PPP).
    - Identify the features of Unix-to-Unix Communications Protocol (UUCP).
    - Identify the features of File Transfer Protocol (FTP).
    - Identify the Basic Network Utilities (BNU) options.
    - Identify the features of Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP).
    - Identify the procedure for configuring a Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP) server.
    - Identify the features of the Domain Name System (DNS).
    - Identify the features of Network Information Services (NIS).
    - Identify the features of Network Information Services Plus (NIS+).
    - Identify the features of routing with AIX.
    - Identify daemons and protocols required for routing on AIX.

    Unit 3: Network Services 2 hours

    - Identify the features of a Network File System (NFS).
    - Configure a Network File System (NFS).
    - Identify the features of a Network File System (NFS) client.
    - Identify the procedure for configuring AIX as a Network File System (NFS) server.
    - Identify the steps involved in mounting remote file systems by using WSM.
    - Identify the features of Network Installation Management (NIM).
    - Identify the procedure for configuring Network Installation Management (NIM).
    - Identify the resources required to support NIM.
    - Identify the features of IP aliasing and domains on AIX.
    - Identify the features of Distributed SMIT (DSMIT).
    - Identify HyperText Transfer Protocol (HTTP) servers that are available on AIX.
    - Identify the procedure for installing an AIX document library service.
    - Identify the procedure for implementing a Network Time Protocol (NTP) on AIX.
    - Identify the features of TCP/IP security.
    - Identify the files that control TCP/IP access.
    - Identify commands for proxy management.

    Course Access

    Each student has access to the course for a period of 6 months from the day of enrollment in the course.
