    This course teaches advanced IP addressing concepts. This course also examines advanced IP routing principles, including static and dynamic routing characteristics, classful and classless routing, and automatic route summarization across network boundaries.

    Unit 1: Extending IP Addressing

    - Identify network layer elements of a scalable network.
    - Identify benefits of effective network design.
    - Identify benefits of extending IP-addressing within a network.
    - Identify benefits of using variable-length subnet masks (VLSM).
    - Identify the steps involved in calculating variable-length subnet masks (VLSMs).
    - Identify benefits of route summarization.
    - Identify considerations for calculating route summarization.
    - Identify functions of Classless Inter-Domain Routing (CIDR).

    Unit 2: IPv6 and NAT

    - Identify benefits of IPv6.
    - Identify characteristics of IPv6 addressing.
    - Identify ways in which IPv6 frame formats differ from IPv4 frame formats.
    - Identify IPv4 to IPv6 transitioning methods.
    - Identify the IP Network Address Translation (NAT) commands used to configure IP NAT with access lists.
    - Identify benefits of using route maps with NAT.
    - Identify the command that links a route map to an address pool.

    Unit 3: Routing Principles

    - Identify circumstances for using static routing.
    - Identify key aspects of dynamic routing.
    - Identify key aspects of On-Demand Routing (ODR).
    - Identify key aspects of administrative distance in terms of routing protocols.
    - Identify criteria that the router uses for inserting routes in the IP routing table.
    - Identify routing protocols.

    Unit 4: Classful and Classless Routing Protocols

    - Identify characteristics of a classful routing protocol.
    - Identify key aspects of automatic network-boundary summarization in a classful routing protocol.
    - Identify ways to interpret a classful routing table with a classful protocol.
    - Identify characteristics of a classless routing protocol.
    - Identify key aspects of automatic network-boundary summarization using Routing Information Protocol version 2 (RIPv2) and Enhanced Interior Gateway Routing Protocol (EIGRP).
    - Identify the effects of the auto-summary command for Routing Information Protocol version 2 (RIPv2) and Enhanced Interior Gateway Routing Protocol (EIGRP).
    - Identify characteristics of Routing Information Protocol (RIP).
    - Identify Routing Information Protocol version 2 (RIPv2) configuration commands.

    Course Access
